I love wild places
|
I grew up in Kitimat, northern B.C., close to the ocean and surrounded by forest and mountains. It is here that I developed my love of nature that ultimately led me to pursue studies in organismal biology, ecology and marine biology at UBC and at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre (BMSC) on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The desire to share my passion of the natural world culminated in a university teaching career at KPU (Kwantlen Polytechnic University) from 2004-2022.
I have always been committed in advocating for the environment (in my role as an educator and an ecologist) and I plan to pursue conservation issues on the Sunshine Coast where I now reside full-time. I continue to enjoy spending time in nature and engaging in physically demanding outdoor challenges. |
