Outdoor Adventure
I spent my childhood in the small town of Kitimat on the coast of northern British Columbia. I have many fond memories of fishing (and ice-fishing!), hiking, beach combing, picking berries, and exploring the old logging roads by car and by foot with my mom and dad and two sisters. It is here that I developed my deep love of nature.

I have always enjoyed physical challenges, ergo the love of physically demanding outdoor sports, but not just for the sake of physical exertion… for the sheer joy of experiencing the power and the beauty of nature and all things wild.
This hike in the Yukon, to Kaskawalsh Glacier (2007), was the most demanding hike I'd done to date: ten hour backpack to camp, fording fast-moving glacial streams, grizzlies feeding near camp. Since then, the Spectrum Traverse in Edziza Provincial Park, B.C. (2022) has become my most challenging hike. See story and photos under 'Backpacking Trips'.
My partner and I spend our winters alternating between iglooing and backcountry skiing.
We spend the summers sea kayaking and hiking, both day trips and multi-day trips.
